This is a monthly Chamber Breakfast focusing on the issues impacting your business.  Join us for the Legislative Breakfast with the Chamber the 3rd Friday of each month, September-June.

Jay Kiedrowski: is a senior fellow in the Public and Nonprofit Leadership Center at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. He teaches courses on public and nonprofit financial analysis and budgeting, organizational performance and change, strategic human resources management, integrative leadership, and public service redesign. He also does executive training and consults.

Before coming to the University in 2004, Kiedrowski was the executive vice president for Wells Fargo and Company (successor to Northwest Corporation). He was responsible for leading institutional trust, institutional brokerage, and trust operations for the merged Northwest / Wells
Fargo organization.

Kiedrowski served as Minnesota Dep[uty Commissioner and Commissioner of Finance from 1983 to 1987 and budget director for the City of Minneapolis from 1978 to1982. He also served as a researcher and committee administrator with the Minnesota State Senate between 1973 and 1977, specializing in tax and urban policy analysis.

Kiedrowski serves on several boards and participates in other community activities. His board service includes the, State of Minnesota Investment Advisory Council, UCare Minnesota, Wisconsin Health Care Insurance Board, Humphrey School of Public Affairs, Carlson School of Management, Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation, Guthrie Theater, and Minneapolis Schools Referendum Oversight Committee.

Kiedrowski earned a B.S.M.E. in industrial engineering from the University of Minnesota and a master of arts from the University's School of Public Affairs. He also earned an Ed.D. from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.

 

 

Phil Krinkie is the President of the Taxpayers League of Minnesota. Prior to joining the Taxpayers League in February 2007, Phil served 16 years in the Minnesota State Legislature and held positions as the chairman of the State Government Finance, Capital Investment and Taxes committees. Perhaps best known as Minnesota's "Dr. No" – for his steadfast opposition to wasteful government spending and tax increases that fueled government growth – Phil was the legislature's preeminent fiscal conservative.

In addition to Phil's political work, he is a small business owner. For 25 years he has operated The Snelling Company, a heating and air conditioning business in the Twin Cities.
